In the News: Training on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Held at ICT

The News Gram joined Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA)’s Legal Aid for Survivors of Sexual Assault (LASSA) Project for our Keep Families Safe event to work with advocates in the Eagle Pass community on how to combat domestic violence and sexual assault. The paper quoted TRLA attorney Maricarmen Garza:

Over the past few years there have been no protective orders issued in Maverick County, yet we do know that domestic violence is prevalent in this community. We wanted to give tools to this community give resources and information and educate.  We have over 200 people that showed up to this event from different law enforcement agencies and we have elected officials here and we know that they take this issue seriously.
