Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA) and its Legal Aid for Survivors of Sexual Assault (LASSA) project are proud to join organizations throughout the state and #TurnTexasTeal during Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month.
Nearly one in three Texans will experience sexual assault in their lifetime, with women being twice as likely to be victimized as men. More than 70 percent of survivors will know the perpetrator before the assault — they will be a friend, acquaintance, coworker or even a family member.
This April, as part of Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month, TRLA’s LASSA Project is working alongside domestic violence shelters, rape crisis centers and victims rights groups to educate communities on how to combat family violence. We invite you to join us.
Some of the events we will be attending this month include:
Sexual Assault Awareness Information Fair — TAMIU
Take Back the Night — TAMIU
Serving Victims, Building Trust, Restoring Hope Conference (Odessa, TX)
